Itinerary 

Besancon to Dijon

Day 1, Besancon
Passengers are welcome to board our ship at 6:00 p.m. After comfortably settling into your cabins, we'll introduce our crew at a welcome cocktail. Tonight we'll enjoy dinner and remain in port overnight.

Day 2, Besancon - Ranchot
Departure by coach to Arc-et-Senans for the tour of the Royal Saltworks (La Saline-Royale). Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, this royal factory was built between 1775 and 1779 at the wishes of King Louis XV. we'll spend the afternoon sailing towards Ranchot and remain in port overnight.

Day 3, Ranchot - Dole
Morning spent cruising towards Dole. During the afternoon, join an original and unique tour, following the “trail of the Chat Perché”. This trail refers the famous tales of a Perched Cat, written be Marcel Aymé who lived in Dole as a child. we'll return on board and remain in port overnight.

Day 4, Dole - Saint-Jean-de-Losne
Morning spent cruising towards Saint-Jean-de-Losne. Join us on a tour of Saint-Jean-de-Losne, the capital of canal barging in France. We'll remain in port overnight.

Day 5, Saint-Jean-de-Losne - Petite-Ouges
Morning spent cruising towards Petit-Ouges. As we float by, you will discover the magnificent lush, green landscapes of the Saône Valley. A bike path was created that follows our route on the canal. You are free to take this path whenever you wish, bicycles are available on board(1). At the end of the afternoon, we'll arrive in Petit-Ouges where you can take the time to visit this tiny village at your own pace and discover the “Path of the three Wash Houses”(2). We'll remain in port overnight.

Day 6, Petite-Ouges - Dijon
Morning spent cruising towards Dijon. You'll be able to sit back and admire the vineyards and scenery that slowly pass us by as we cruise. In the afternoon, excursion along the Grands Crus wine route. The touristic Grands Crus wine route passes through the finest and most prestigious of the Burgundy vineyards. Tonight’s our gala evening. We'll remain in port overnight.

Day 7, Dijon
Buffet breakfast on board. Disembark at 9.00 a.m.

Briare to Nevers

Day 1, Paris - Briare
Transfer by coach(2) from Paris to join our ship in Briare (duration ~2:15). Passengers are welcome to board at 6:00 p.m. After comfortably settling into your cabins, we'll introduce our crew at a welcome cocktail and dinner. we'll cruise through the Briare Aqueduct, whose 14 masonry supports were built by the Eiffel Company. Until recently, it was the longest navigable aqueduct in the world. Afterwards, we'll return to Briare and remain in port overnight.

Day 2, Briare - Lere
we'll take a tourist train to discover the village of Briare and its hidden treasures, among them the Chateau de Trousse-Barriere - an imposing 19th-century brick castle - and the town hall, a modest castle that was modified in the 18th century. Traveling along the tree-lined canal, we'll also see locks and lock-keeper houses and the quaint bridges that cross the waterways. The 19th-century Church of Saint-Etienne was built on the site of an earlier church and combines elements taken from both Byzantine and Gothic styles of architecture. Then, we'll visit the Deux Marines Museum and learn about the history of the Loire and its canals: the spot that was once considered the most important waterway crossroads in France. we'll spend the afternoon cruising to Léré. Kick back and enjoy the scenery as it rolls by or borrow one of the bikes on board to ride along the canal. The evening is free to do as you please. we'll remain in port overnight.

Day 3, Lere - Menetreol-sous-Sancerre
Set in the historic Berry region, Sancerre overlooks the gorgeous Loire Valley. You'll discover this beautiful medieval city by following the Fil d'Ariane: a red line painted on the streets taking you past the old wine-making neighborhoods, bakeries, fascinating buildings, and lovely art galleries.

The Fief Tower (optional visit with separate entrance fee; significant stairs to climb) is the only remaining tower of the 14th-century medieval castle. Afterwards, we'll visit a goat farm and have a tasting of its trademark cheeses and the local Sancerre wine. The family on the farm is raising approximately 200 goats and 60 cows and will be happy to share their cheese-making secrets with you. we'll spend the afternoon cruising towards Ménétréol-sous-Sancerre. The evening is free to do as you please. we'll remain in port overnight.

Day 4, Menetreol-sous-Sancerre - Chapelle Montlinard
we'll leave by coach for a visit of Pouilly-sur-Loire, where we'll visit the Tour de Pouilly-Fumé: a wine-tourism center located in a beautiful setting. we'll visit the vineyards, the wine cellar and enjoy a tasting. Afterwards, we'll return on board and continue towards Chapelle Montlinard. Take advantage of this moment to ride along a portion of the EuroVélo 6, the bike route traveling from the Atlantic Ocean to the Black Sea. The evening is free to do as you please. we'll remain in port overnight.

Day 5, Chapelle MOntlinard - Marseilles-les-Aubigny
we'll leave by coach for a tour of La Charité-sur-Loire and an authentic farm. we'll begin our visit with the priory, one of the most important restoration sites in Burgundy for the past 15 years. we'll then visit a farm deep in the countryside, where we'll experience the rustic calm and authenticity that can be found only in France. Afterwards, we'll return on board and spend the afternoon cruising. During our journey, discover the unique abundance of nature, culture and heritage. You'll have an outstanding view of the Val de Loire Natural Reserve. Tonight is our gala evening. we'll remain in port overnight.

Day 6, Marseilles-les-Aubigny - Nevers
we'll leave by coach for the visit to the Fontmorigny Abbey, a privately-owned French historical monument. Now one of the main cultural sites in the area, it is testimony to over 8 centuries of French religious heritage. The contemporary stain-glass windows are not to be missed. we'll continue on to visit Apremont-sur-Allier and its floral garden. Classified as one of the most beautiful villages in France, this small medieval jewel on the bank of the Allier is an absolute must-see. The village offers a stunning point of view of the castle that overlooks it, also a nice stroll along the Allier river. we'll return on board at the end of the morning and cruise to Nevers through the afternoon. At nightfall, we'll leave on an optional, romantic tour of Nevers with lanterns. we'll remain in port overnight.

Day 7, Nevers - Paris
Enjoy one last buffet breakfast on board before disembarking around 9:00 a.m. Transfer by coach (3) from Nevers to Paris (duration ~2:45). 



Nevers to Briare

Day 1, Paris to Nevers

At nightfall, we'll leave on a romantic tour of Nevers with lanterns. we'll remain in port overnight.

Day 2, Nevers - Marseilles-les-Aubigny
This morning, join us for a tour of Nevers. Our visit will begin with the Espace Bernadette Soubirous, the final resting place of the simple country girl from Lourdes who claimed to have seen the Virgin 18 times. we'll then continue to the city center where we'll be able to see the Ducal Palace, considered the first of the Loire's castles. Built on the hill, the palace overlooks the center of the old town, the Republic Square and a large park. we'll stroll through the remarkably preserved old quarter, with its half-timbered houses and picturesque streets, before reaching the Nevers Cathedral, dedicated to Saints Quriaqos and Julietta, a national monument of France. We'll have a brief visit to the Nevers Blue Gold pottery district before ending our tour with a tasting of local products. we'll spend the afternoon cruising towards Marseilles-lès-Aubigny. Kick back and enjoy the scenery as it rolls by or borrow one of the bikes on board to ride along the canal. The evening is free to do as you please. we'll remain in port overnight.

Day 1, Dijon

Day 2, Dijon - Longecourt-en-Plaine
Morning spent cruising. Take advantage of this first day cruising to relax and admire the beautiful Burgundy scenery, or to walk or bike alongside the boat on the canal's bicycle path. In the afternoon, excursion along the Grands Crus Wine Route. The touristic Grands Crus wine route passes through villages and the finest and most prestigious of the Burgundy vineyards. we'll return on board in Longecourt-en-Plaine and remain in port overnight.

Day 3, Longecourt-en-Plaine - Saint-Jean-de-Losne
Morning spent cruising. As we travel, you are free to bike along the Doubs River at any time by taking the Green Way bike path. In the afternoon, tour of Saint-Jean-de-Losne. We will explore monuments that tell the story of the city's prestigious past, such as the monument commemorating the Siege of 1636, and the Hôtel-Dieu, which was a charitable hospital founded in 1658 and is surrounded by intricately wrought iron railings dating from the 17th and 18th centuries. we'll return on board and remain in port overnight.

Day 4, Saint-Jean-de-Losne - Chalon-sur-Saone
Morning spent cruising towards Chalon-sur-Saone. As we cruise by, you'll admire the Saône River's hilly banks and typical local houses perched on its hillsides. You’re free to ride alongside the boat taking the Green Way bike path. In the afternoon, tour of Chalon-sur-Saône, birthplace of Joseph Nicéphore Niepce, one of the inventors of photography. we'll return on board and remain in port overnight.

Day 5, Chalon-sur-Saone - Chagny
Morning spent cruising towards Chagny. This is the perfect moment to relax and enjoy the hillside scenery and rolling meadows along our route. Departure for the hike to the Cirque du Bout du Monde. You'll discover the imposing chalk cliffs carved out by the Cozanne River which created a blind valley, where a waterfall over 80 feet high adds a touch of wonder. we'll return on board and remain in port overnight.

Day 6, Chagny - Santenay - Saint-Leger-sur-Dheune
Departure towards Santenay, a wine village with a priceless historical and natural heritage, which we will reach during the morning. We will set off from the ship and walk to the center of Santenay, a charming little wine-producing village. You can join us for a wine tasting session at one of the 38 wine producers’ in the village. In the afternoon, cruise towards Saint-Léger-sur-Dheune. Relax and admire the passing lush landscapes. Late in the afternoon, arrival in St. Leger-sur-Dheune. Tonight is our gala evening. we'll remain in port overnight.

Day 7, Saint-Leger-sur-Dheune - Dijon
Buffet breakfast on board. Disembark at 9:00 a.m. Transfer by coach to Dijon, arriving late in the morning.
