Itinerary 

Canal du Midi Route - Béziers to Carcassone

Day 1, Sunday
Transfer to Roi Soleil, welcome on-board with cocktails. Navigate along the canal through a rural area with wetlands.

Day 2, Monday
Sail through the great locks of Fonseranne. Excursion to historical city of Pézenas or the impressive hill village of Roquebrun by the River Orb. Discover Oppidum of Enserune, a major archaeological site with panoramic views of the surrounding valleys. Visit Béziers historical centre and shops. Wine tasting at cellar of a top French Sommelier and supplier to Michelin-starred chefs.

Day 3, Tuesday
Cruise into the heart of the historic village of Capestang. Private visit to the cistercian Abbey of Fontroide, one of the finest examples in France. Enjoy a private wine testing at a Corbieres Château. Visit Camargue bull and horse ranch with the opportunity to round up the bulls on horseback

Day 4, Wednesday
Morning excursion to the charming city of Narbonne that was the Roman Capital of the early Gaulles - its vibrant food market - the famed art and roman archaeology museums within the Bishop Palace and shops - a highlight of the week.

In the afternoon, sail into the peaceful country village of Somail with an impressive antique bookstore, and then sail beneath the smallest canal bridge in France.

Day 5, Thursday
During morning, visit the hill village of Minerve, which is a beautiful natural site that has a dramatic history dating back to the time of the Crusades. Visit the prized olive oil mill, Oulibo, and a historic Languedoc village. In the afternoon, sail to Roubia from where we have the option to take a short flight over the Cathar castles in the Pyrenees- the famous fortresses of Vertigo.

Day 6, Friday
Visit to the fortified city of Carcassonne - Europe's largest medieval fortress - a great place to be transported into medieval history and a shopping opportunity. Discover the beautiful, medieval city of Lagrasse and its artisans. In the afternoon, sail to Homps with many locks.

Day 7, Saturday
After a leisure breakfast on-board, transfer to departure point.

Prices shown in Euros and will be converted in Australian Dollar (AUD) at time of payment using a daily ROE. An initial deposit of 30% of the total cruise fare for charter is payable at the time of booking. The balance must be paid within 130 days as per our terms and conditions and as specified in our confirmation invoice, which will be despatched when the booking form has been processed. Cancellation policy applies to all bookings.
