Day 2, Monday
Depart early for the Royal Dornoch Golf Course (1.5 hour drive) for a round on the Championship Golf Course, one of Scotland's famous links courses designed by Tom Morris. (Tee Time of 11.30am) Dornoch dates from 1616 and is internationally acclaimed. The cruise today will take us up the Muirtown lock flight, then a short trip along the pretty section of canal to Dochgarroch. Dinner on board. Dinner on board (18 holes, 7009 yards, Par 72: buggies and pull carts available)

Day 4, Wednesday
Today, you will encounter some of the finest scenery Scotland has to offer. Drive to one of Scotland’s best known and most photographed castle, Eilean Donan, which has featured in many movie scenes. The idyllic setting, betrays the castle’s tactical important as it overlooks three sea lochs. We return to the barge and our cruise will take us up the “flight”, as the locals call it, at Fort Augustus. We then have a round of golf at nearby Fort Augustus Golf Course, probably the only course in the world kept manicured by a herd of sheep! Featuring 9 holes in a challenging canal side setting. This evening we have dinner ashore at a local restaurant. (9 hole, 5,454 yards par 67: pull carts available)

Day 5, Thursday
On our tour today we will again encounter some of Scotland’s bloody past as we visit the ruins of Urquhart Castle on the shores of Loch Ness. A short film explains some of the history from St Columba's day to the present with a spectacular finale. A gentle drive will take us back to the Invermoriston Falls and a chance to see the “Old Bridge” designed by one Thomas Telford and if you are very lucky you may even see a salmon leaping. The cruise today will take us all the way through Loch Oich and onto the Laggan Avenue, often described as the prettiest part of the canal. Dinner on board

Day 6, Friday
After breakfast on board, transfer to Newtonmore Golf course Newtonmore (established 1893) is a comparatively flat, easy-walking, parkland course full of exciting and invigorating challenges. It nestles appealingly in the midst of the Monadhliath and Grampian Mountains and on the banks of the River Spey. Afterwards we return to the Scottish Highlander and cruise to Banavie and Neptune's Staircase of locks. This evening we usually entertain the local piper with a wee dram before the Captain's Farewell Dinner on board. (18 holes, 6041 yards, Par 70, pull carts and buggies available) approx. 30 minute transfer from barge to golf club.
